    How to Train Your Dog to Use A Pet Fence | PetSafe®

    How Does It Operate?

    The operational principle is straightforward. The transmitter continuously sends signals to the receiver device attached to the dog's collar, tracking the distance of your dog.

    When the collar receives the transmitted signal, it recognizes that it is within the safe zone, and no correction is triggered. However, if the collar stops receiving signals (e.g., goes beyond the boundary, signal blocked by an obstacle, or the transmitter runs out of battery), it determines that it is no longer in the safe zone, and corrections are initiated.

    The correction cycle unfolds as follows:

    Phase 1 – The collar emits a beep for 5 seconds;

    Phase 2 – The collar vibrates for 5 seconds;

    Phase 3 – The collar beeps and vibrates simultaneously for 6 seconds;

    Phase 4 – The collar administers a shock for 5 seconds;

    Phase 5 – The collar beeps and shocks simultaneously for 6 seconds;

    Phase 6 – The collar continues beeping until it returns and receives a signal.

    If the collar returns to the boundary and successfully receives the signal transmitted by the base unit, it recognizes that it has reentered the safe zone and ceases to deliver corrections.

      How does It Work?

      The working principle of Invisible Wireless Fence is simple. The transmitter will track the distance of your dog by sending repeated signals to the receiver that is attached to the dog’s collar.

      When the collar receives signal from the base unit, the collar is considered still within the safe zone boundary and no correction will be sent off. If for some reason the collar stops receiving signal (e.g collar goes out of boundary, signal blocked by obstacle, or the transmitter battery dies), the collar will be considered to be run out of the safe zone and it will start entering the working mode to send off the correction.

      The principle of the working mode is as follows:

      Phase 1- Collar will beep for 5 seconds;

      Phase 2- Collar will vibrate for 5 seconds;

      Phase 3- Collar will beep & vibrate together for 6 seconds;

      Phase 4 -Collar will shock for 5 seconds;

      Phase 5 -Collar will beep & shock together for 6 seconds;

      Phase 6 -Collar will keep beeping until it returns and receives a signal

      If the collar returns to the boundary and is able to receive back signal transmitted by the base unit, the collar is considered to have returned to the safe zone, and it will stop sending off correction.

      FAQ's

      HOW IT OPERATES?

      The transmitter functions by continually transmitting signals to the receiver device attached to your dog's collar, tracking the distance of your dog.

      Upon receiving the transmitted signal, the collar determines that it remains within the designated safe zone, and no correction is activated.

      If, however, the collar ceases to receive signals (e.g., it goes beyond the boundary, the signal is obstructed by an obstacle, or the transmitter's battery is depleted), the collar recognizes that it is outside the safe zone, triggering corrective measures.

      A sequence of notifications is initiated, starting with a beep, followed by vibration, and ultimately, a 1.5mA shock, which has been extensively tested and verified as safe for dogs and other pets. In cases where a dog is stubborn or has hearing difficulties, the shock serves as an effective means to ensure they cease running and return to the designated zone.

      HOW TO USE?

      1. Plan your layout and determine the optimal location for the transmitter, estimating the radius distance.

      2. Attach the metal contact probe and silicone cover to the receiver.

      3. Power on both the transmitter and receiver to initiate the pairing process.

      4. Once paired, access the training mode and test all available modes to ensure proper functionality of the receiver.

      5. Verify the effectiveness of the shock mode using the provided LED tester. Place the tester on the metal probe; if the LED lights up, the shock mode is functioning correctly.

      6. Evaluate the coverage distance of the transmitter by entering fence mode. Set your desired coverage distance, walk away with the LED tester on the metal contact probe, and confirm that the achieved distance meets your requirements.

      7. When the transmitter exceeds the set boundaries, it will initiate corrections, starting with a beep, followed by vibration and, finally, a shock. The LED tester will illuminate when the shock correction is activated.

      8. After thorough testing of all features, your installation process is complete, and it's time to implement the system.

      9. Secure the device around your pet's neck and adjust the strap length accordingly.

      HOW TO TRAIN DOGS WITH THIS SYSTEM?

      Before implementing the system, it is crucial to acquaint the dog with how the unit operates.

      Once the initial setup is finished, place the collar on your dog. Initially, use a leash and guide your dog toward the boundary line until the collar emits a beep. Immediately bring the dog back inside the boundary where the collar remains silent.

      Reiterate this process multiple times during each training session over a span of a few days. As the training progresses, your dog will experience shocks, marking the point of learning. After a few well-timed shocks, the dog begins to comprehend the limitations and boundaries set by the system.

      IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT MULTIPLE DOGS?

      Certainly! You have the capability to connect your system with up to three collars, accommodating three dogs.

      IS A WIFI OR INTERNET CONNECTION NECESSARY?

      No, there is no requirement for WiFi or an internet connection. The wireless fence unit determines your dog's proximity by utilizing signals transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver.

      WHAT IS THE RANGE OF COVERAGE FOR THIS SYSTEM?

      The coverage of our wireless dog fence extends up to a radius of 300 meters. You can customize the distance settings, choosing from 15, 30, 60, 90, 150, up to 300 meters. It's important to note that obstacles like walls, buildings, trees, vehicles, or metal structures between the transmitter and receiver may obstruct the signal, limiting the collar's effective travel distance.

      IS THE COLLAR SUITABLE FOR MY DOG?

      The Doglory 2 in 1 Wireless Dog Fence & Training Collar is completely adjustable, accommodating sizes ranging from 6 to 28 inches. It is suitable for dogs of all sizes, weighing between 15 to 110 pounds.

      WHAT IS THE CHARGING FREQUENCY FOR THE DEVICE?

      The charging frequency depends on the usage of the unit. For optimal safety and performance, we recommend charging the device after each use, similar to charging a mobile phone nightly to ensure readiness for the next session. Charging the transmitter takes 4-5 hours, while the receivers require 2-3 hours. In standby mode, the transmitter can last up to 2 weeks, and the collar can last up to 1 week.

      IS IT SUITABLE FOR SQUARE, RECTANGULAR, OR DIFFERENT YARD SHAPES?

      Regrettably, the wireless fence transmitter operates within a circular coverage area. It is advisable to position the transmitter in an open space, such as your backyard, to avoid potential signal interference that may reduce the coverage distance.

      WILL THE COLLAR CONTINUE TO APPLY SHOCKS IF MY DOG EXITS THE BOUNDARY?

      In the event that your dog ventures beyond the established boundary or the collar loses signal reception from the transmitter, the collar will initiate 2 cycles of beep, vibrate, and shock. Following the completion of these two cycles, for safety purposes, the collar will exclusively emit beep sounds (without shocks) until your dog returns to the designated boundary or until signal communication with the transmitter is restored.
